What is your return and exchange policy?
Items ordered through this website are eligible for exchanges or store credit within 7 days of the delivery date that the shipping provider (USPS, UPS or FEDEX) marks the item as delivered. To exchange an item, please send us a message to coordinate. Buyers are responsible for secure return packaging and return postage (with tracking) within 7 days of communicating about an exchange.
In the unlikely event that an item you received was misrepresented in its listing, please contact us so we can make it right.
What is your shipping policy?
Prices shown include free USPS First Class shipping when order is over $50. Orders under $50 incur a $5 shipping fee. Included in USPS First Class shipping is $100 insurance. Shipping upgrades and additional insurance are available upon request— please contact us here or via @theemeraldkarat in Instagram to get a quote for the shipping service you prefer. Other shipping services include: USPS Priority and Express, UPS or Fedex Ground, 2nd day air and overnight.
Do you offer international shipping?
Yes! International shipping is available for a fee. Please message us here or via @TheEmeraldKarat on Instagram for a quote.
Purchaser is responsible for all associated customs, duties, and/or taxes or other applicable fees related to import. We are unable to calculate any duties which may be imposed by the country we are shipping to and we do not collect duties at the time of sale. Please research any related fees before placing an order. The Emerald Karat does not administer refunds for items that are undelivered due to customs/import issues.
How will my item(s) be shipped?
Please allow 10-15 business days for any item that needs to be resized or modified. If your purchase does not require modification, the item will ship the following business day once we have verified your identity
Do you offer layaway?
Via website checkout: There is a 'buy now, pay later' payment option via Shop Pay Installments at checkout. When using Shop Pay Installments, the item will be shipped immediately for you to enjoy while you continue to make the payments you set up within Shop Pay.
In-House Layaway: Available for items over $500, with up to 60 days to pay in full. Send us a message to get started with layaway. Here’s the details:
Payment schedule: 30% non-refundable deposit is due immediately to hold the item for you. It is required to make at minimum one payment every 30 days following the deposit. That payment can be in any increment, so long as a payment is made and communication is received. Please message @theemeraldkarat each time you send a payment. Within 60 days of the deposit, your item must be paid in full. I will reach out after 30 days if I have not received a payment and you have 72 hours to respond. If I do not hear from you I will withhold the 30% deposit and move the item back into available inventory.
Can I shop in-person?
At this time we do not have any in person opportunities to shop our full inventory. That being said, if you are eyeing an item or items that are over $2000, I would be happy to schedule a 30 minute in person appointment with you to view the item. Appointments will be in St. Paul or within a 20 mile radius if possible for both parties.
Is there sales tax on my purchase?
Sales tax is added to purchases within the state of Minnesota (ranging from 6.875-9.875%) and calculated based on the ship to county or as otherwise required by law.
What about the Wishlist Feature?
We know how it is when you love something but want someone else to gift it to us. That's why we offer a wishlist feature. Simply DM us in Instagram via @TheEmeraldKarat or contact us here with the item you have your eye on and provide the contact info (phone number to TEXT, email address or Instagram handle for DM) of who you’re hoping will pick up the tab. We will message the person and let them know you are wishing for the specific item. We always let them know they have zero obligation to acknowledge our message or even respond. But we’re there for them should they want to complete the purchase. We cannot guarantee that an item will still be available upon hearing back from the potential gift giver.
